Our FARM

Our livestock, poultry and bees, along with the free access we provide to our vegetable patches, are our way of letting our guests and friends know where their food is coming from. When practical, our visitors can literally pick, prepare and eat

Sheep & Alpacas

The majority of our livestock are sheep. We run two breeds: Border Leicesters and Wiltshires. During lambing season, we invite our guests to help bottle feed lambs that are in need of some extra help.

We also have seven alpacas and they're a great source of soft, warm wool. The alpaca is a curious animal, and whether you stay in Heritage or Hobbit, they will be looking over the dry stone walls to see if you have a spare apple.  We also invite our guests to feed the alpacas with us in the late afternoon.

“More adventurous guests can move the sheep between paddocks and even help with shearing. We have approximately 100 ewes and are gradually increasing our numbers.”

Chooks, Ducks & Apiary

Our chooks and ducks supply our daily free-range eggs, which are so different from commercial eggs. We also keep Guinea Fowl, Silkies, Wyandottes, Arracannas, Isa Browns and Rhode Island Reds.

Our latest initiative was establishing an apiary. We decided on Flow Hive technology. Guests are welcome to draw honey direct from the hives.

“Early(ish) risers are invited to help feed our poultry, collect eggs and feel the warmth of a freshly laid egg. Yuko’s home-made bread from the agar is authentic ‘Paddock to the Plate’ and will be waiting for you upon your arrival.”
